Understanding and Using Bibliometrics to measure/showcase your Research Performance: Getting the most from Scopus, SciVal, & Web of Science Online
This workshop will cover: What are Bibliometrics/Citations? What can you use them for? (CV’s, Funding Applications, Academic Publishing, Tracking Research & identifying potential collaborations), metrics covered will including H Index, article citation counts, Journal Impact Factors (JIF), publications in the top percentiles, and benchmarking your own, your departments or the Universities Research Performance. We will also look at the limitations of citation metrics and determine how useful are they? The workshop will identify which tools to use (Scopus, SciVal, & Web of Science), provide a demonstration and give you the opportunity for hands on experience and to pose any questions you may have.
